Roots reach deep in the ground, unseen,
and the leaves set sail, baiting stories beyond knowing.
The year 2010 marks 100 years since my great grandmother, Aina, left Finland on a boat for America. As I have been living in Finland before and during this year, my intention was to make and launch 100 small boats here before the year is through, as a quiet gesture. They were made out of found natural materials, mainly Silver Willow leaves. I am presenting documentation of the sailings here.
